From out of the shadows . . .

G'day all and welcome Bas, Wayne, Col and Scotty!

Seems I've been a member here for some time but, I'm afraid I haven't been on here enough to even be described as a lurker. About to change that situation.

I'm a low hours Rec Aviation Pilot needing to shed some real estate so I can acquire my own wings. It will happen but it's not happening quickly enough.

For those who are not already aware, I was recently elected as a Members Rep for NSW/ACT on the Board of RA-Aus. I have since been elected Treasurer and accepted the NatFly 2012 Coordinator job. I am clearly certifiable.

I am loving TAA already. The tone is so relaxed and warm and I plan to do what ever I can to keep it that way.

Sorry I've been a bit quiet so far but I've been buried in emails and swamped with phone calls over the last few days (in a good way). The support offered by so many has been breathtaking. We were away from home Monday night and when I got back Tuesday morning there were 65 emails in my Inbox and they have been coming in all day faster than I can reply.

The aircraft in my Avatar is a BRM Bristell that I fell in love with at the last NatFly over Easter 2011. It actually has a fixed undercarriage but they photoshopped it off because they thought it looked cool. They were right. It looked so good they are now developing a retract version.

Looking forward to spending some relaxing time inthe chat room as soon as I get my head above water.

G'day Don,

Sure is a bunch of the blokes over here aren't there?

Don't know about everyone else, but I've a learning curve like a lunar shot at the moment as I learn how to drive all these buttons and things.

 :why:

Gee Don you've been a member here longer than me. It's good to come out of the shadows isn't it (gee I nearly said closet oops LOL). I didn't bother emailing you etc. I reckoned you'd be a popular boy. Never did introduce myself either - might do that.

Cheers

Sure is Wayne and good to see. Feels like home after a spring clean!

And this from somebody who knows how to hotwire Jumbo Jet!

Know what you mean though. When you get to my age, first you have to unlearn something to make way for the new stuff. 022_wink.gif.2137519eeebfc3acb3315da062b6b1c1.gif

Don, I was like Dex (hi Dex!) and didn't email you either...nice to hear of the support you've received.

I've been a longtime member here too (probably the first avaiation site I joined), but thought I better emerge from the woodwork too as I heard there were a few interesting characters making their presence felt over here ;)

G'day Pete and good to hear from you.

I'm certainly enjoying my time on TAA. Pretty friendly. low stress sort of place with lots of great people dropping by to say "hello".
