Hi all, I'm Rod from sunny Victoria!

New to aviation but hoping to have my PPL knocked over pretty soon.

Recently purchased a nice little AA-5B Tiger and looking forward to catching up with some of you guys around the traps!

G'day Rod, I over at Cockatoo and fly out of YLIL or YCEM, I have a mate in Hervey bay selling a grumman (not sure which model) where did your tiger come from?

G'day again Rod. I looked up your rego last night, nice looking Tiger. I thought I knew most of the Tigers around, but haven't seen yours before. Look forward to seeing you some time!

Hi Kaye,

She still needs a bit of a clean up and a polish but that's just exterior stuff. Mechanically it's great and it flys perfectly.

No doubt we'll catch up some time!

Hi Rod,

Welcome to TAA. Back in the 70's when I lived in Sydney I got endorsed on an AA5B and flew it out of Bankstown a few times. My flight school was Chieftain Aviation. Maybe just the one I flew, but it took a bit of slowing down after landing. You would stand on the brakes and the end of the runway would keep coming. Nice plane though. Took 3 mates and circled the Harbour Bridge.

Hey Peter, did you retract the flaps? If so and still brake problems, I'd suggest it was a maintenance issue!

Thirty five odd years ago, Kaye, who knows? I liked how you could lock one brake and do a 180 on the taxyway.

Hi Peter,

I was lucky enough to get clearance to fly into Sydney Harbour a couple of weeks ago while we flew the Tiger down from Archerfield....... Can't say it has any brake problems cause it seems to pull up pretty well.
