Big Kev Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi Guys, The above have been pretty hard to find. What I need is empty weight, MTOW, min and max fuel. Are there individual seat limits? Kevin

barandbrew Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hi Kev Min fuel for takeoff is 10 ltr per tank and no individual seat limits John
Bigglesworth Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hey Big Kev.MTOW 520 kg Max Baggage 10kg Minimum single pilot weight 55kg VNE 93Kts VNO 86Kts VA 80Kts empty weight 321.9 or 326.9 depending on accessories these weights where from my Gazelle. hope this helps VA 80? Can it actually go this fast at a constant height? I remember when I was learning to fly in one, we had 60-65 cruise. And it didn't get much better.
Big Kev Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 :black_eye: Based on the above, a Gazelle won't fit the bill. I'm to heavy. Kevin
barandbrew Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 My Gazelle cruises at 75 knt at 5000rpm and will cruise at 80 knt at flat out. Both figures backed up by GPS readings John
Guest brentc Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 With the original timber prop they were only really good for around 70-75 knots at best. Anything better would come from a carbon / glass prop. Mine was about a 72 knot machine and was pretty consistent with the 2 blade timber. At a few more RPM I could get nearer 80.
Bigglesworth Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Are those figures indicated or true? Because the ones I flew (timber prop) had no hope of that speed indicated, up a bit higher they would have trued it. Can't remember the RPM settings.
Deskpilot Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Hi Kev, If speed isn't an important criteria, how about a Lightwing (tail-dragger). I haven't flown one but have looked into the clubs example and the cockpit looks pretty roomy when compared to the Jabiru. Doug
Deskpilot Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 PS Kev, the Blackburn Beverleys is in no way a dig at your supposed size
Big Kev Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 ;) Heh heh...... might be as large but sure not as damned ugly! May be like your av- sleek and powerful......... Big kev
Big Kev Posted August 11, 2007 Author Posted August 11, 2007  Looked at a Skyfox and Gazelle today. Must have looked decidedly funny, but I did sit in it. No point in going further, and thanks to Graham for his efforts. Have to look at a Lightwing, but the field appears to be narrowing fast! :) Kevin
