bas Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 LOL. Make sure you thoroughly read the policy wording; many will list "aircraft" or anything to do with them in the exclusions. That is my experience anyway; normal software companies can buy liability and indemnity insurance online cheap and easy. Not so much if you make aviation software.
Guest DWB Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 When I spoke to them a month ago, I made it quite clear what the event was, what we were doing at our stand & they said no problems......... I can understand your skepticism though. Not sure what RAAus will think if Certificate of Currency shows TOYS as the product exhibited. I realise this still has the potential to fall in a heap. Watch this space I guess..........
Guest DWB Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Well it's going to get interesting! Bas hit the nail on the head, which isn't really a surprise to me, although in conflict with what the Broker originally told me. I now have the policy document & yes their is an Aircraft & Watercraft Exclusion. I contacted the Broker who then contacted the Insurer who stated that the exhibition site is covered for Public Liability with the exception of any physical contact with the aircraft on the site. I am now running this all past RAAus who will no doubt run it past their Insurers & I would almost put money on the outcome. Stay tuned........................
Guest Michael Coates Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 This is why i am close to giving up on airshows and the like UNTIL the RAA or whoever get a policy that protects exhibitors just like the EAA have..... Its impossible to get something covered by yourself !
