sixtiesrelic Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Today, some knowlegable sounding American TV reporter told me something I never knew but will certainly will save lives if I pass it on. Talking about Air France's Airbus crash in the Pacific, he said the aircraft stalled! 'Essentilally, it stopped in mid air!' Hay gang! next time you reckon ya gunna crash, stall her about twenty feet above the ground and radio the control tower (when you're half way between Cloncurry and Birdsville say..) and tell them to send a crane out to get ya down. Simple!
Alan Spears Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 A few years ago. A news report about the crash of Metro at Lockhart River said 'Preliminary investigations revealed that the aircraft was flying too low in the area of the crash'.
Guest Michael Coates Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 There was a crash in Death Valley USA where they said the plane was flying lower than the sea..... Go figure ?? Media are the educators of tomorrow.
mnewbery Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 http://www.popsci.com.au/technology/aviation/don-t-mention-the-war-civil-unmanned-aviation-in-australia Meanwhile back in Australia... "... US military C-130 Hercules transport helicopter was involved in a mid-air collision with an RQ-7 Shadow UAV ..."
