Lol Seriously though, building the latest technology weapons systems like Jets, Helicopters or Subs ect it is better off not being done by a small country. Also the government is already gun shy because of the multitude of previous defence contracts that had massve cost bliw outs. Like the super SeaSprite helicopter, Collins class Sub ect.

Buying in nuclear technology would be enormously expensive, leave us beholden to others for the technology and leave our children with a toxic legacy.
