Panicmouse Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Building a Super Petrel 100 kitset, almost finished after 10 years. Has been a very interrupted project, with several added time consuming complexities due to being only the second one made at the factory in Ipuena, Brazil . Previous flying in hang gliders and microlights, then got a PPL flying Cessnas, recently downgraded to a recreational pilots license because of the increasing costs of medical compliance. In NZ, this still allows one to fly GA aircraft, but with no more than one passenger. Looking forward to some water flying at last!
Admin Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 and welcome to a great community of like minded people...a Super Petrel, that is an aircraft I would love to have, good luck and hopefully we can give you the inspiration to finish it
seb7701 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Welcome aboard - don't forget a couple of pics of the work in project. We're all suckers for a good work-in-progress!
Panicmouse Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 Thanks for the replies- I'll sort out a few pics before too long, I've taken many hundreds...... Currently working on it full time, the final push .. this time, I hope :-)
planedriver Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Welcome to this great site, so looking forward to seeing a few pic's especially when it's finished. I spent about 20yrs rebuilding a Sunbeam Alpine Series 2 which is now somewhere in your neck of the woods. Work and other commitments sometimes get in the way of these projects, so don't feel bad about how long it takes, as it sounds as though you are now on the home straight. Good stuff! keep us posted.
jeffd Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 welcome panicmouse just read up on that aircraft looks preety cool
Richard from NZ Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Hi, Did you ever finish your Super Petrel? Has it been flying?
