Tex Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 standard in a blue head 582 Really?... I thought you had to order it separate i.e. not supplied with a new engine.
Patrick Normoyle Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I had to buy mine separate from the engine, but I have two, one on the head and another at the top of the system and they work just great 1
horsefeathers Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 My new 582 that I bought at the start of the year came with thermostat as standard fitting..... 1
Guest Maj Millard Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ran one in the grey top for over 600 hrs, temps always stable and steady as a rock at 70C. Nice warm up also. The Rotax ones are too expensive, but the Kawasaki ones are the same, fit right in and worked great. Unless they have changed they are the KR 250, but check temp rating on it. When fitting make sure you have the small steam release hole at the top (upright).......The blue tops have a different coolant hose set up so I recommend your refer to the Rotax installation manual for the correct position for the thermostat.......one key to longevity with Rotax 2 strokes is to run them in initially per the instructions, and by the book. If you don't bother you are in no-mans land !........Maj......
