Trip from Masterton to D'urville Island. Nothing from the air, just a few destination pics. Mate took his C150. About 100 nm from home. Public strip, about 700m, great day. Came back at 9000ft

Great aircraft the Savannah - they are becoming very popular down our way (Rangiora) - a new local agent has just sold 3 kits and has ordered another 4 . We already have 3 flying in our club. They seem to be a great compromise in that you can land in rough paddocks but still have a reasonable cruise for longer trips. Great way to cross the ditch (Cook Strait for the Aussies) - at 9000 ft - you obviously have a transponder and got clearance to that height.

Finally got around to editing up some more video from my last flight on the 9/1 . 150km FAI triangle.

So whilst it wasn't a flight per se, it did occupy the whole Australia Day weekend...plus a couple of days.

A mate and I had a wee drive from the east coast to the west coast to procure my first aircraft, a lovely ASW19B.

7000km in 6 days is a big tripDSC_0342.jpg.09b265c6ffbc3566c5ba2526495bc781.jpg

Flew the wife to Benalla for lunch yesterday. A short walk into the shady main street with a selection of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Lots of gliders towing off 08 left. Air wasn't too rough.

Another hour solo today. Great weather. Cruised a little way away and then returned to airfield for some circuits. Did 4 landings with various flap settings and some slipping.

A circuit or two around home bemoaning the rate that good horticultural land is being covered in ashphalt.

Such a lovely day today had to go for a quick fly - local round Camden and back in the scenic way (via the river at 800 feet) followed by a few circuits. Youngest son was doing the flying so I just went along for the ride

Went for a Valentines Day flight with my wife in our Nynja and the air was rose petal smooth and Sandy enjoyed the flight and the scenery. The dam is Kinchant dam just to the south of Marian. All going well will get another fly into tomorow or Tuesday. Cheers Mike

What a great valentines day for the both of you. Still blowing here a bit so doubt if it would be too smooth down here.

I was talking with a guy who went for a fly out of Redcliffe this morning. He was saying it was very bumpy up to 1500ft and challenging crosswinds for take off and landings. I've been looking at the wind closely myself, it has improved today. I'm itchin to get back in the air... booked the plane for Thursday

Yes I was down at RED today...very bumpy at 1500ft and still blowing...after the ex cyclone moves away over the next couple of days things should improve...yes Thursday is when I am looking to have a fly....

Also at YRED today, had my first lesson this morning with Wayne from "Fly Now Redcliffe" in the Tecnam P92, bumpy at 1500ft, climbed up to 2500ft, smooth as silk. Crosswinds on the landing but. Did my (TIF) in the SportStar and enjoyed flying the aircraft, but I really like the Tecnam now! next lesson in 2 weeks,

I've also booked the plane for Thursday. I'm hoping conditions are are going to be good to do a bit of a tour of the lakes, otherwise more Touch & Go's at Coominya

Today I took a good mate for a fly to the south of Marian (The hills are to the west of Sarina) and again the air was smooth. Also it gave him a break from his spitfire build. He was impressed with the Nynja and we discussed that the spitty will be faster and nippier :) I also made a place to secure my check list on the centre console.

Can't get enough airtime in the Nynja, 35 hours now since first flight. 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

I went for a quick spin today at YRED, did a couple of circuits then a lap of Bribie. Last flight was 4 weeks ago, seems like months! Awesome conditions in the air for this time of year! I think you might get lucky tomorrow too!!

I went out from Caboolture yesterday. Kilcoy, Watts Bridge, Gatton Airpark, Clifton, Boonah, Heck Field then Home via the islands.

Weather although it did get hot was beautiful for flying. Considering the terrible weather over the last few weeks it was brilliant.
