Thruster88 Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I see airventure Australia is going to be at Parkes NSW 20-22sept 2019. Since it's only 33 miles I will be going in the Thruster. It would be great to get a bunch of traditional tube and rag ultralights attending, anyone up for it ?.

derekliston Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Just a quick but very pleasant circuit at Warwick (YWCK) this morning. Incredibly unusual to see three aircraft parked at the terminal. 1 1

Are you sure they weren't on the ground for safety; as you were in the circuit??? ? All joking aside I must fly in there one day as I remember it was a great place when doing gilder maintenance courses in June (A bit cold at times.) If I ever get down that way I'll look you up. Cheers

Blueadventures Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Fitted in a fly in the Nynja yesterday in the late afternoon over the new road works for the Eton range crossing west of Mackay; as on Saturday finished off the throttles and carby balance then called in on a mate Mike's new 750 cruiser and saw some nice engine runs of the engine. He's getting close now as those who have owner built know. Cheers.
Keith W Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Quick trip over to shep for some charts then out to Dookie to see the turtle 1
Keith W Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Shocking picture I know but if you enlarge it you can see the outline of the turtle cut into the paddock
spenaroo Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 was meant to go up for the lesson on Stalls last Thursday, But cloud cover meant the instructor swapped to an introduction to circuits, felt really good to connect everything and start flying the plane though all stages. still have a lot to work on, especially memorizing the checks. so I can have my whole focus on the aircraft and not trying to think of what comes next - found that was when it started to wander a little from its heading or altitude. feels weird lining up for landing, like I am aiming for the right of the runway (flying from left seat) but seemed to hit the mark each time for the touch and go. took a little bit for my mind to realize I didn't need back pressure for the climbing turn. and also have to get my nose attitude better when lowering and raising flaps.
Blueadventures Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Nice weather after the rain passed mid morning. 2
ClintonB Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Boy that plane pops of the ground quick Blueadventures, nice to see green scenery for a change?
Blueadventures Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Boy that plane pops of the ground quick Blueadventures, nice to see green scenery for a change? They are a nice aircraft, true to fly, respond to control inputs and suits me totally. If you see one around ask to go for a fly or if up this way sometime make contact and I'll fit in a fly around. In my opinion the SkyRanger models would make a good school aircraft; but as none are factory built they can not be used in training.
Thruster88 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Just admiring my old beauty as I work, makes it enjoyable 2
Keith W Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Flew up to Mungo Lodge for lunch then on to Wentworth for 2 days , left Wentworth this morning flew to Pooncarie for lunch then back to YMMO. How bloody disgusting to see what they have done to the Darling river, no water in a lot of places then where there was water it looked green and stagnant,

dsam Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I just got back from one of my Aussie “Bucket List” excursions along the Great Australian Bight - west to Eucla, inland to Forrest, then returning home to Melbourne along the coastline again. Magnificent and often isolated scenery! A few 4 hour legs were required, but this was an exhilarating experience I won’t forget. 402AC0AE-8182-4F73-8F64-A5C5D3139F29.MP4 402AC0AE-8182-4F73-8F64-A5C5D3139F29.MP4 6 1 1

Thruster88 Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Don't know where ybgd is and probably won't look it up but that is a big metal detector?
