Old Koreelah Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 That place seems to have all the essentials: a pub, a beach and a nearby airstrip. What more would you want? 1 1
Geoff_H Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 And both a sunrise and sunset over water. It is one of the destinations that I must get to one day. The restaurant only operated six or so months of the year. You may have to take certain foods in for the chef to cook. All reports of the glamping are fantastic. 1
ClintonB Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 A quick lunch.......19/06/20 One lucky flyer. Looks champion lunch and scenery. I miss WA. I would love to fly Carnarvon area, only ever low flybys in the Charger when I lived there.

Flightrite Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 Oh that brings back memories, like I mentioned earlier the Boneparte Archipelago is an amazing coast line!? The Pince Regent River is spectacular as well especially at Cascade Falls (not so lovely for the American tourist Ginger taken by a croc)

marshallarts Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 I am SO envious. The Kimberley is our fave region in this great country of ours. Our first really big flight was way back in 1992 when we visited Broome for the first time, and flew ourselves up there from Perth. Fell in love with it and have been going back to the area almost every year since (sadly not in our own aircraft again though). Thanks for the pics. I'd recommend a flight to the Horizontal Falls to anyone, regardless of who is at the controls.
Downunder Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 I'd recommend a flight to the Horizontal Falls to anyone, regardless of who is at the controls. I'm not sure what to make of that? ? Should I be offended?
marshallarts Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 Should I be offended? Certainly not, not sure what you have drawn from that. Perhaps I should have said "whether as pilot or paying passenger".
Downunder Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 All good mate....Just having a dig. Glad you like the pics. Off into the desert tomorrow. We'll see what contrasting pics are taken compared to today's scenery....
marshallarts Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 (edited) Sounds fabulous. What are you flying? I haven't been in this forum long, or I'd probably know that. Edited June 19, 2020 by marshallarts
Downunder Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 (edited) Random gorges..... Would have liked to get lower for pics but it's difficult. Up high it's stable and smooth to fly hands off, and there's plenty of time. Down low it's rough with winds coming off scarps, thermals, etc and the scenery rushes by so you need to time the shot perfectly......easier with pilot and passenger taking shots but a bit unsafe one up... red750 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Fabulous photos DU. Magnificent scenery. A part of the world I have never seen, nor am I ever likely to. 1
Mhalc Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 The pictures from Australia are just magnificent! Once the world gets back to the “old normal” I am going to have to make this my next stop. 10 minutes from my hanger at KTOA: 4

onetrack Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 That's a far better view than the one you get from the Bastion (Five Rivers Lookout)! - although the lookout view is still quite impressive! You wouldn't want to do an emergency landing on those mudflats, the crocs just at the jetties in Wyndham are MASSIVE!! - and they'd be homing in on you, quick-smart, on those mudflats!
Downunder Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Lacrosse Island. Lighthouse and helicopter pad on the far, western side. 26/06/20 Looking south west to the western side of Cambridge Gulf 3
Downunder Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Two resorts. Berkeley River lodge and Faraway Bay....(Faraway Bay resort on the edge of the bay in centre. A bit hard to see) $350 landing fee for non guests at berkeley.......lol 3
