You can use tried designs not compromise with parts that are undersized like undercarriages seats and have to use exotic materials to keep weight down and limit choice of engines..Nev I would love to 95.10 get a weight increase, or just remove the limit altogether, just keep a stall speed or wing loading and single seat as limiting factors, then we might see some good stuff, made more affordable with the use of commercial materials and automotive engines. I think though that any factory building something with a higher weight, is probably still going to use dedicated aero engines, and an airframe designed within an inch of it's life, sok that they can claim greater payloads. 1
