kaz3g Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Keep raising the nose and the houses get bigger again... Terrible tragedy but the final comments are the most enlightening: "New training needed to ensure pilots can fly the aeroplane hands on if the auto systems fail." Terms like CRM and HF also come to mind. Congratulations to the investigators and the affected families who helped ensure there was sufficient political will to keep the search going. Kaz 1
keith.b Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Fly by wire, is a problem when one pilot can't see / feel the inputs that the other is making... when opposite inputs cancel each other out... things go pear shape real quick....
Gnarly Gnu Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 when opposite inputs cancel each other out... I heard it's an Airbus thing. Can't get my head around that.
Guest ozzie Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 New?. This accident has already been done.
astroman Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 New?. This accident has already been done. Yeah, saw it ages ago. I was stunned when I saw this and realised that the pilot had no idea about the inputs the other pilot was making! I knew that it was fly-by-wire, but assumed the sticks were still linked. I have to agree, I don't think the accident would have happened in a Boeing.
Phil Perry Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 New air crash investigations on 7 digital tonight (adel) @ 19:38 - 20:41About Air France flight 447 Oh,. . . . . . . Ah well, . . . .that'll be REALLY factual then,. . . providing that there is no FRENCH software which could possibly be involved in ANY ACCIDENT. . . . . . . .( ! )
