Guest john Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 An elderly Italian gentleman who lived on the outskirts of Rome, went to his local Church for confession recently. When the Priest slid open the panel in the confessional, the man said to the Priest, "Father during the second world war a beautiful Jewish women from our neighbourhood knocked urgently on my door one day & asked me to hide her from the Nazis, so I hid her in my attic". The Priest replied: "That was a wonderful gesture that you did, & you have no need to confess that". The man said there is more to tell. "Father she eventually wanted to repay me with sexual favours of her own free will, & this happened several times a week & sometimes twice on Sundays". The Priest said, "That was long ago & by doing what you did you placed the 2 of you in great danger, but 2 people under those circumstances can easily succumb to the weakness of the flesh, however if you are truly sorry for your actions, you are indeed forgiven". "Thank you Father, that is a great load off my mind, but I do have 1 more question." The Priest said "And what is that my son". The man replied, "Should I tell her the war is now over?"
