Seminars this year will include: The latest information on Regulatory Reform. Topics relating to the latest safety trends identified by CASA, Airservices and ATSB (Where possible, Airservices or ATSB personnel will also attend). Information about the new interactive education programs and resources available online to help keep you safe in the air and on the ground. Aero clubs and other aviation organisation are welcome to run AvSafety seminars with ASAs presenting. However, CASA will not be supporting the events financially beyond reasonable operating costs. The seminars will offer opportunities for discussion on operator and individual obligations, as well as to ask questions, share knowledge and raise issues relating to regulatory change. March seminars are being held at: Innisfail Jabiru Cooma Katherine Port Macquarie Derby Broken Hill Point Cook Coffs Harbour Broome Deniliquin Townsville The presentations are based on the content of the CASA website. Please feel free to bring your tablet or smart phone to follow the information live. The seminars are free, but registration helps us to contact you in the event of any changes. Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) sessions Dedicated PBN sessions will also be held in Adelaide on 28 February, Tullamarine on 11 March, Perth on 8 April and Brisbane on 27 May. Information delivered will be of great value to aircraft operators, pilots, manufacturers and maintenance organisations and will include an overview of CAO 20.91 (instructions and directions for PBN) and CAO 20.18 (aircraft equipment – basic operational requirements), the concept of PBN, GNSS and ADS-B equipment requirements, impending deadlines, and the impact on airspace/route design. The information will include, look, structure, details, transition arrangements and resources to help you understand your new Part 61 flight crew licence. The latest information on the regulatory reform process. This will include the next phase of Regulation Reform, how to find information, what might affect you and what you need to know. Information about the new interactive education programs and resources available online to help keep you safe in the air and on the ground. This includes the new and revised Visual Flight Rules Guide, and the updated and improved On-Track interactive guide to operating in and around controlled airspace. Aero clubs and other aviation organisation are welcome to run Aviation Safety Seminars with ASAs presenting, however CASA will not be financially supporting the events beyond reasonable operating costs. It will be an opportunity for shared discussions on operator and individual obligations and opportunities to ask questions and raise issues relating to regulatory change.
