kgwilson Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Given the large numbers of Jabiru's out there, the Grafton Aero Club committee had a discussion and wondered if there would be enough interest from Jabiru owners to attend a flyin at South Grafton Aerodrome exclusively for Jabirus and possibly others with Jabiru engines. We have a well appointed clubhouse currently being re-furbished and are located within a few hours flying from a large portion of NSW & SE QLD. Camping underwing is OK, we are situated on the edge (walking distance) of town, Pubs, Mogas, Restaurants, Motels, Shops etc. There are 5 Jabirus resident at South Grafton. If there is enough interest shown we would organise some technical sessions, possibly with someone from Jabiru as presenter, a dinner/social evening & perhaps some fun competitions & a swap meet. Either indicate your interest here or send me a PM (start a conversation).

01rmb Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Flew in to Sth Grafton on sunday and met Col from the aero club. Nice guy - He showed us around the club house and made us feel very welcome. We'll make it to a fly in there for sure as well as head down there some more.
Jabiru Phil Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I am still a possibility depending on date Never been that way before, so looking forward to more info as it enfolds Phil
kgwilson Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 We will be discussing possible dates next week. The re-cladding of the clubhouse is in full swing & will be complete by Friday. All the other finishing touches should be complete within 2 or 3 weeks. We will be having another Wings & Wheels day probably in August as last years was a great success & The Jacaranda Muster is in late October so May, June July or September are possible months. We will give plenty of notice. Cheers Kevin
Keenaviator Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hope to be able to fly my newly completed bird to this do. Laurie
kgwilson Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 We had a committee meeting yesterday & our calendar is beginning to fill up so we thought that the weekend of 7th & 8th of June would be a good time. Monday the 9th is also Queens Birthday. It does clash with the Sunraysia flyin at Wentworth but when looking at the Flying calendar there is something on somewhere every weekend. We have almost completed the external upgrade to our clubhouse & the official opening is in late May. You can see some significant change already from the before & after photos attached.
