Denny Fiedler Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Hi All I looked at plenty of Product Disclosure Statements of various companies offering travel insurance but haven't found one that doesn't exclude flying other then RPT or Charter. Has anyone done flying training outside of Australia and found insurance that covers training flights?
Guest Nobody Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 What are you trying to cover? I am Australian but learnt in the USA. If you want to cover your medical bills if you have a crash then you need to keep looking. I have used QBE in the past but havent checked that their current policy is still OK. To cover the damage you might do to others as well as the damage to the plane you will need to take out a "non owned policy". In the USA the big aviation insurers offer such a thing eg https://www.avemco.com/secure/Aircraft-Renters-Insurance.aspx
Denny Fiedler Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 I was looking for medical cover, all the plane damage etc. will be covered by a local insurer as long as I'm a student pilot.
