Guest ozzie Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I used to have a couple of Porters to play with. I used to run home from school to catch the 60s TV show Ripcord. It has just been released on DVD and i ordered it today from Amazon.
red750 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Now there's a blast from the past - old 60's TV shows. I lived in Deniliquin in the late 50's and 1960, and you needed a mast as high as the TV transmitter to receive TV. Needless to say, we didn't see much TV. I came to Melbourne with my Dad to visit family, and I can remember stopping at a roadhouse where Whirlybirds was on TV. Sparked my interest in helicopters. Much later when we lived in Melbourne, I used to travel from the Yarra heliport to Essendon on the Ansett airport shuttle, just to ride in a helicopter. Came to know pilot Darcy Newell.
