Today, the first problem of remote airport was accentuated, dash 8 has a fault and there are no mechanics onsite so Qantas has to bus the passengers down to brissy. All the customers that missed their adjoining flights in Sydney not happy. If a plane ingests a bird on landing, how much fun will it be changing an engine without a hangar or equipment?

A -8 broke down at Miles last shift. It is not a problem just at Welcamp. Qantas link may be better off selling their old 300 series and buy more 400 series.

No mechanics & no hangar is no different to Hervey Bay, Bundaberg & Gladstone just to name a few off the top of my head. No doubt there are lots more destinations that are also like this. When a Dash 8 breaks down in Gladstone ( and they do ) they can't just bus the passengers to Brisbane but somehow the world keeps turning and QLink keeps operating.

Good Afternoon

I am after some advice here.

Gina is going to buy a big dairy farm and it is in the South East corner only in the planning stage at the moment.

I think she is on to this fresh milk thing to China.

Just wondering if you are in the loop regarding Gina's export milk?

Regards

KP

There is plenty of room to build a maintenance hanger.

Chinese can't afford air freighted milk, Gina is doing powdered milk for baby formula. that was in the news mate, you need to read beyond the headline.

Keith, Wellcamp is a great opportunity for entrepreneur like yourself. Ground floor opportunities like this come along once a generation

Now that the future is supposed to be China and milk, wine etc. Rockhampton council are making noises that their airport should be used for freight. I doubt that it will be as I can't see China wanting air freighted beef, but it is just a sign of the greed around today. Wellcamp has got it, we want it.

Thanks for the correction F_T..

Regarding "China can't afford":- Well could it be? The aircraft is *China owned *China made *China maintained *China fuelled *China pilots -------- you know that will lower the prices and China has everything in house, only landing fees at Wellcamp.

Then it must be baby formula to China?????????????.

The RAAF change them out in the middle of a desert, can not see Wellcamp being a problem.

With your IT skills you can design the Risk Assessment/SOP regarding removal and replacement of an engine at the Wellcamp Airport.

There is a job for you F_T, you know we get well paid for those tasks.

Keith, go and have a look in your local supermarket and find some food that has been air freighted to the shelf. See if you can find anything.

Without a doubt, you are either one of the great trolls I have encountered, or special. I'm thinking special.

I wonder if maybe this is aimed at boosting the number of movements recorded at the aerodrome to then qualify for a control tower
