If you are serious about aircraft condition, have your own or share with a small number of compatible people in your own hangar or people you can trust to not bash aeroplanes together. There are some immaculate C182's around, but inspect and check what they are like for corrosion.

With the C-180, get the seaplane spec but not an ex seaplane.

The 180 IS versatile and it will lift you out of most places, but get someone to train you well in it so you are comfortable without a lot of forward vision at times. High wings are good for going through farm gates and strong crosswinds (wing down) You can sleep under the wings and don't hit markers and stumps as easily as low winged planes. Nev

You will get a great C182 for $150k...

What else would you need...all aircraft are a compromise...IMO the 182 is the least so.

Put the $150,000 in a term deposit / mortgage / suitable investment and with the interest hire any GA aircraft that suits your purpose or takes your fancy at the time and you will be streets ahead. Eric

Yes that is correct, however aircraft ownership has many benefits of which none make financial sense.

if you are this financially savvy - you wouldn't be even thinking of aircraft ownership!
