Planning a trip to Lightning Ridge in a couple of weeks and looking for advice on accommodation and options for ground transport.

A few Motels there but a bit too far to walk into town from the airport , best to call a taxi .We stayed at the Wallengulla motel across the road from the bowling club where meals are available . An interesting place to spend a few days .

I stayed at a motel opposite the rsl club, which has great meals.

 

Wish I knew the name of the motel as they picked up and delivered to airport.

 

Bitumen strip has a hump in the centre by memory and can't see any aircraft below this.

 

Great place to visit.

 

Refuelled at Walget enroute.

I have stayed at the Bluey motel on a couple of occasions 02 68290380. If you give Margie a call she will pick you up from the airport and drop you out there when you leave. It is an interesting place to visit. Be sure to visit John Murray's art gallery. Greg.

I have also stay at Bluey's motel and they pick us up from the strip and also gave us a guided tour of the area. The thermals pools are a must for a relaxing soak and we all seem to agree an interesting place and easy to spend a few days. there.
