Defective MS21042 metal lock nuts

This safety bulletin was issued recently by the FAA. It affects commonly used MS21042 and some other types of metal lock nuts. If you use any of these it would pay to check by torqueing the nuts to the recommended values.

I have used thousands of these, and never seen one cracked.

Same here, although I certainly haven't used thousands. It's obviously not a widespread problem. Anyway there's the information, so take it for what its worth.
