rgmwa Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 This safety bulletin was issued recently by the FAA. It affects commonly used MS21042 and some other types of metal lock nuts. If you use any of these it would pay to check by torqueing the nuts to the recommended values. http://www.rotor.com/rotornews/April14/HQ-14-16.pdf rgmwa 1
M61A1 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I have used thousands of these, and never seen one cracked.
rgmwa Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 Same here, although I certainly haven't used thousands. It's obviously not a widespread problem. Anyway there's the information, so take it for what its worth. rgmwa
