Camel Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 4 out of 5, is a pretty good record for Jabiru He said 5 out of 6. If I told you once I told you a thousand times don't exagerate.
rankamateur Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 4 out of five is actually a conservative estimate of what I said. Most Jab owners would happily settle for an eighty percent chance of making TBO if 83.3% was not going to happen for them, wouldn't they?
fly_tornado Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 The worse thing Jabiru ever did was try and pass their engines off as having a 2000 hour TBO 1
AVOCET Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 The worse thing Jabiru ever did was try and pass their engines off as having a 2000 hour TBO 2000. Hr bottom end only 1
JimG Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 From the Jabiru 2200 Engine Manual, note then use of the word 'recommend'. Jabiru recommend a TBO of 1000 hours of engines to s/n 709. From s/n 710 TBO has been extended to 2000 hours with a top end overhaul done at 1000 hours, certain conditions do apply for this situation. A Guaranteed Fixed Price Overhaul Plan* is offered with both engines. Contact your regional distributor or Jabiru Aircraft for details. Top End overhauls are also available on later model engines. Given there price, I believe 1000 hrs is fair enough. Especially when you consider schools operating 582's have to replace them every 300 hrs. JimG 1 1
AVOCET Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I 2000. Hr bottom end only i guess I'm just a glass half full type of guy
