Just wondering who people use for their aircraft insurance.

Have done a search but all posts seemed very old and looking for updated suppliers.

Any help much appreciated just looking for the right service and reasonable price with no hidden traps

Regards

Hi Stewy,

I've been using RGIB (Rural & General Insurance Brokers) for the last two years, found them good to deal with. Aviation policy underwritten by Swiss Re which is one of the biggest.

Cheers,

Dave

I've found Gladys and Stewart Smith of Armbro/ACG easy to deal with.

(Though, thankfully, I've had no claims experience.

They know about small aeroplanes and they advertise in Sport Pilot.

Interesting insurance story ( travel, not aviation ) in today's paper. The claim was apparently not paid out " because the policy was paid for online".

I reckon the information you need the most is the history of unpaid claims before you buy insurance. Yes there will be some where you agree that the claimant was wrong, but you sure want to know about the rest. The insurance company knows all this of course, maybe they will tell you if you ask.

Yes the story as reported in the paper turns out to be a little suss and as more details have emerged , the travel insurance company comes out better in my opinion. But the lesson is still there, be careful with insurance details.
