Deskpilot Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Ever thought of water skiing behind a Drifter or similar aircraft. 1
Marty_d Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 What the hell is the plane? Rag & tube, twin engine, open cockpit, amphibian?
dazza 38 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 What the hell is the plane? Rag & tube, twin engine, open cockpit, amphibian? It is a Air Cam. 1
AVOCET Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 The things people do ! Imagine the flack doing that in Australia .
Thirsty Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Wouldn't the friction make your feet hot? Very cool though.
AVOCET Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I Wouldn't the friction make your feet hot? Very cool though. think it's done in a cold climate .
Marty_d Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I just looked up the Air Cam. TWO bloody Rotax 912 ULS's! I couldn't afford one (new).
cherk Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Orinally developed and successfully for a specific photo shoot through the Amazon by National Geographic magazine. Aka, Lockwood Air Cam.
Aldo Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Ithink it's done in a cold climate . Makes no difference friction is friction and yes it does get hot, which is why you see them going from seat to feet on a regular basis. Normal speed for barefooting is between 32 - 38 knots can't imagine what it would be like at 50+ behind a Thruster or Drifter, these guys are good.

They are good .
Aldo Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Ii was only joking . They are good . No offence meant, I remember barefooting in another life and it was hard enough to hang on at 35+knots to do this at 50+ is insane, I can just imagine what a face plant must be like when you get it wrong and your toes dig in. 1
