ozzietriker Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Hi, I have a faulty EGT Probe on my Rotax 912ULS engine which needs replacing. It is used with FLYdat system. Replacement of original is $290 (paying Australian criminal prices), does anyone know of a cheaper alternative/option? Thanks in advance
Downunder Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Any of these look OK? http://www.mglavionics.com/html/mgl_accessories.html Pulled from a forum...... I had a duff EGT probe on my 912S with flydat. The £180 for a new probe, was not going to happen, its plain extortion by ROTAX. Since they are standard K type, which can be sourced for £35 from Parts for Aircraft, bolt type made by MGL Avionics. They have sold many for Rotax engines without trouble and the replacement probe has metal braided lead 1 metre length which works beautifully 1
rgmwa Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Try Lockwood Aviation. I think this is the one, but check with them to make sure. https://www.lockwood.aero/p-2542-clamp-on-egt-probe-1-12-to-2-clamp-1-tip-4-lead-nd.aspx Should be a lot cheaper even with postage. Ask for USPS International Mail, no tracking. rgmwa
Downunder Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I went to buy some stuff from Lockwood. They wanted scans of documents. Drivers licence or passport and CC (front and rear). I purchased elsewhere.....

flyvulcan Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Sorry, I was wrong. It wasn't Lockwood (that was my oil cooler stuff), it was a Grand Rapids Technologies that I got my EGT probes from. Here's the link http://www.grtavionics.com/EISandAccessories2-26-14.pdf Hope it helps. Cheers, Dave 1
