Yenn Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Road signs, A rse covering. How right you are. Come to Qld and the first signs you will see are "Rough road" I don't know what good they do as all the roads are rough, but they have been around so long that I wonder how effective thet would be. If a sign has been on a road for 6 months, then someone knew the road was rough and did nothing about it, and they obviously thought it was dangerous enough to need a sign. Oh. Just realised that they are there as revenue raisers. In the same way that WH&S is a way of creating full employment.
turboplanner Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 The good thing about the precedent established in 1924, is that you can bellow as hard as you like and create a public record of recklessness and disdain, and while nothing happens, nothing happens - there are no inspectors any more. And when something happens it's just between you and the person you hurt or killed, and if you killed someone and knew that what you had been doing was wrong, like a quick beatup over an airfield, then apart from you and the plaintiff's family, there might be a police prosecutor involved requesting the court for a period of incarceration. Simple and clean.
