Geoff13 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Hi all looking for hanger space, Heck Field, Redcliffe or Caboolture. Does anyone know of any please? Cheers Geoff13
DrZoos Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Heck has question marks as the land owner is trying to have them moved on, last i heard they where heading to court ..
fly_tornado Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Dont be fooled by ayavner's promise of hanger space, this is the real deal. 1 1
Kyle Communications Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 what sort of aircraft Geoff?....I may know of one but not for a GA size aircraft
Geoff13 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I haven't actually got the aircraft yet Kyle. Looking at a GT500/Xair Hanuman or something similar. Cheers Geoff
RetiredRacer Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I have some Hangar space available at Watts Bridge.
Geoff13 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Bob Thank you. It is probably at bit far out to be practical for me. However if I get stuck I will be in touch.
Kyle Communications Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 If you secure a hangar you will be paying until you get the aircraft into it. The hangar costs every month whether the plane is in there or not. When I finally found one for my Savannah before I had it finished I paid for almost 2.5 months for a empty space....but it was worth it I must say
Geoff13 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 I was aware of that, that is why I am starting the search now. Better to have parking and not need it, than to need parking and not have it. And if it costs me a couple of months then such is life. I am not looking to build a plane, I hope to but one ready to go. I have several that I want to look at but I made a deal with myself not to fly any other planes other than the one I am learning in until I have finished my Pilots Certificate, my Pax endorsement and my Xcountry endorsement. 2 down and well into the third. Just a bit slow atm due to some rough weather and having been away for a few weeks. Hopefully I will get that finished in the next couple of weeks then the search will begin in earnest. Cheers Geoff13
Kyle Communications Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Hi Geoff I think you are flying the fox bat at Ycab. If you are its out of commission for a while. It hit one of those bloody black kites from the dump 1
Geoff13 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Hopefully it will be back on deck by the weekend. Was supposed to be flying it tomorrow. I told Bill that it is nothing a bit of gladwrap wouldn't fix.
rankamateur Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 He is lucky it didn't hit the wing or wouldn't have been fixed by the weekend.
Geoff13 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 Been out there today. Just about all back together. :) 1
PA. Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Hi GeoffI think you are flying the fox bat at Ycab. If you are its out of commission for a while. It hit one of those bloody black kites from the dump. Was it still frozen?
Kyle Communications Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The birds at Ycab are a real pain they thermal right over the middle of the runway they come from the dump next door
Bennyboy320 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 She's up & running, flew it yesterday on a Navex to Hervy Bay & back.
seb7701 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Love to hear what the going rate is for hangarage around the place?
Bennyboy320 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 A mate of mine has his Victa in a hangar at YCAB at $250/month, he used to pay $500/month at YRED.
Geoff13 Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Yep I flew it on Friday and again today. I have a nav in it as well tomorrow. As for the cost of hangers, it is not a case of how much at this point in time but how available they are Cheers Geoff
dazza 38 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 It's hangar not hanger. A hanger is what you hang your shirt on.
Camel Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 It's hangar not hanger. A hanger is what you hang your shirt on. Good to see you on the job again Dazza, thought you had given up.
dazza 38 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Good to see you on the job again Dazza, thought you had given up. I thought post 3 and 4 would have been enough.
Geoff13 Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 I had responded but deleted it. I couldn't really give a rats clacker about the spelling. It appears some people think they are better than others because of their education or some other sense of superiority. As it turns out there have been several helpful responses to my original post so obviously some people are more interested in being helpful than putting on airs and graces. So stfu. 1
