Guest Maj Millard Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 On Saturday the 8th Nov I have about a six hour layover in Brisbane ( don't ask...connections etc) before travelling onto Canberra for the Strategy meeting on the Sunday later that arvo. So far I reckon I'll whip over and pay homage to Smittys old bus (Southern Cross) which should take care of half an hour or so, then maybe jump on the train to Southbank for a river cruise or whatever. Don't know Brissy that well so a look around won't hurt. Failing all that I do know where the Breakfast Creek pub is, so can always saunter up to the old comfortable bar there for some reminiscing, as long as I don't get too pissed and miss my flight. Your boardmember in action !!.....any other suitable suggestions would be welcome. ?..........Maj....
AVOCET Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Just stay out of the Valley ! Or we'll have to change your name to Graig (no offence tommo)
horsefeathers Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 taxi to see Southern Cross. taxi to Hamilton city cat ferry terminal up to South Bank, for maritime museum, Southbank, Qld Museum (lots of dinosaurs) across Victoria St bridge to Treasury Casino taxi to Breakfast Creek pub, then airport. Come to think of it, you might want to use a Jab instead of a taxi to get round a bit faster

bexrbetter Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Sorry, can't host you, I'm busy attending the official dinner party at the opening of the Australian Consulate in Chengdu on the 9th. Yeah, I know, but wouldn't you throw it in somewhere? Have you been to Southbank by the way? One of the best public parks ever made and the Brisbane Museum and Art Gallery are there as well, take your togs. Get a River Cat from the first terminal closest to the airport to Southbank.
