Clear Prop Name Change

In the coming days our Pilot Supplies store Clear Prop will change its name. The new name will be www.SaveMoreOnline.com.au

 

There are several reasons for this. As some of you know I belong to a sourcing group where I pay a yearly fee to join the group. It works by any member of the group around the world submitting any item(s) that they need sourced along with the desired price and specs. The group then sources the best available price from world wide manufacturers, mostly from China (because everything is made in China) but also from India, France, Germany, USA, UK etc etc etc.

 

The following week we all get a list of all the products that have been sourced on behalf of everyone, and if there is anything on the list that is of interest then we can also order it as well. The same goes the other way with anything that is sourced for us, others in the group around the world can also add any quantity that they want. The more orders that are added to the sourced products reduces the price even further due to price per quantity steps that the manufacturer has offered. We then get the products shipped to us by either direct from the manufacturer or we can save further on shipping if we wait till a box of products from the same region is filled and then all shipped together.

 

This means that Clear Prop now has available such a huge range of products, however many that are coming in now have nothing to do with aviation but are general products.

 

This week also I will be going live with a huge Beauty Web Site for Corrine. There will be direct marketing to over 4,000 beauty salons, suppliers and training institutions so we hope that site will grow. It will also have a Beauty Products store with it so many of the products arriving now are for the beauty store that have nothing to do with aviation however you may like to purchase some items for the wife, girlfriend or ???. But then you wouldn't know about it if the stores were separate.

 

Add to this that many products through the buying group are general products and are at incredible prices that I just can't pass on so I can buy them and pass the saving on to you.

 

So the answer is to have an online store that has everything, not just Pilot Supplies or Beauty Products but everything that you may like whether it be for flying, around the house, in the garage, for the wife and kids and more.

All the Clear Prop products will be in SaveMoreOnline and your customer points will be carried over into it plus the Clear prop web address will simply take you straight to SaveMoreOnline.com.au.

 

I hope you accept this change because I believe it will be good for both of us and the revenue needed to keep Recreational Flying going and food on my table.

 

Of course I always value your opinions which is why I am posting this before I actually go ahead and do it.

Sounds good to me. The occasional girly product will keep things sweet at home. Unfair really, as my beloved is a great passenger and kept smiling through severe turbulence on Friday. But you know what I mean.

Personally i would have kept the stores separate and worked out a way for the back-end to be the same (ie separate store fronts) but it's your business and that's all that counts. Best of luck with the new store.

Thanks for the replies so far.

 

Some things that I had to consider were:

 

1. If I left Clear Prop as a separate store and just for aviation then how would you know that there is so much more available in the other store

 

2. If you did know about the other store and placed an order in Clear Prop for an aviation product and also in the other store for say something for the wife or grandkids, you would be charged separate shipping even though both orders could be physically combined into one shipping parcel...The software works that way

 

3. Google penalises you for duplicate content so having 2 stores with the same products or many that are the same but just different domain names would cause lower google rankings

The new shop is getting there. Much of the coding has been done and now working on the overall design. One big new thing that the new shop will have is online Auctions. Works similar to eBay with just 2 exceptions:

 

1. Currently it does not have automatic increment bids like eBay has where say an item is at $10, the minimum bid is $1 you can't bid $20 but only $11 of it is used until another bid goes in at $12. So if you bid $20 then the current bid jumps to $20

 

2. Users can't put their own items up for auction themselves. However, if you have an item that you would like to auction off, you can advise me and I will add it in for you

 

It is now being worked on online so it is up at www.SaveMoreOnline.com.au and as things are developed locally on my PC they then get added to the live version. The last things that will happen is a bulk product and current shop user import and then it will be live with a grand opening. We have so many new product lines arriving over the next couple of months that will cover every single on e of the categories that are shown in the new shop

Personally, I prefer SaveMoreOnline to BargainBuyShopping.

The NEW store is nearly there www.SaveMoreOnline.com.au and should be opening early to mid next week (last week of November).

 

Still have some cosmetic work to be done and create forums for SaveMoreOnline which will be a general forum site with individual forums for such things as Motor Bikes, Fishing, Sports, Beauty, Technology, Children, etc etc etc, basically the subjects of the shop categories.

 

The Auction system is in and DOES now include the eBay style of bidding where you can add your max bid and the auction system will increase your bidding increments for you up to your maximum bid.

 

I still have to go through all the products and add Reward Points as they were not imported and just prior to going live I will import all your orders, order history and logins from Clear Prop into it.
