old man emu Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 My beloved, Old Ma Emu, bought me an adventure activity gift for Christmas last year, and, finally, this week we made the booking for a scenic flight in a Tiger Moth. As I write this, it's Saturday morning and from the sky outside I can hear Airborne Aviation's Tiger groping for altitude as it climbs out of Camden Airport. That'll be me on the 21st! Anyone know the fuel load a Moth can carry if the people holes are filled with 125 kg in the front and about 100 kg pulling knobs and levers in the back? Based on that, how much of my 30 minute flight will have to be done in glide with the engine at idle? Old Man Emu
facthunter Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Some of them have bigger than the original tank. The extra weight in the front won't affect the balance. I used to get to Mudgee or Port Macquarie from West Maitland easily enough, on the original tank. Nev
