Riley Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Fellow Forumites In the past I have occasionally posted some slightly inappropriate notes and jokes to forumites whom I thought shared my sense of humour. I was recently reminded that my shallow and sexist postings could well have offended some folk and for this I humbly apologize and now make my solemn promise that, in future I will offer only those items with cultural or educational content. (eg old monuments, examples of nature or other items of general interest to my fellow man) Below is a picture of the Pont Neuf Bridge which, completed in 1604 after 26 years of construction, is the oldest bridge in Paris. 2 12 2
rgmwa Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 A worthy attempt at reform Riley, but perhaps a bridge too far? rgmwa 3
SDQDI Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I spose once it gets that old you would expect to see the odd crack. 2
Riley Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 I spose once it gets that old you would expect to see the odd crack. I didn't notice anything odd about it. 1
rgmwa Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 My eyes aren't what they used to be, but I did notice a fine crack. rgmwa 1 1
Downunder Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 A fine piece of engineering...... Wouldn't mind a closer look and check out the structural integrity..... 1
bexrbetter Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 That picture of the bridge reminds me of the famous Paris tunnels.
bexrbetter Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 A cheeky post Butt out! Gee some of you get up early, I'm seeing it a lot from the other side (3.47am here), if this deal doesn't go through someone owes me a lot of sleep ...

Head in the clouds Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Typical, someone tries to raise the standard around here and all you get is a bunch of assinine comments. 2
Marty_d Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I can't stop looking at the picture. Never knew I liked bridges that much!
nomadpete Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Just love the way those rounded arches keep drawing my attention. I wonder what sized vessel could fit under there?
Downunder Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Must be a bakery nearby, judging by the look of those fresh buns.....
SDQDI Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 For those that wanted a little more info, the individual in the photo in front of the bridge is actually from Ireland and his name is Micheal although he does prefer Michelle. For those that are interested he will be finished surgery in mid January.
ayavner Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 see, now this is why we need the Dislike button 1
facthunter Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I can't work out what is behind all the interest in old stuff.. Nev
Guernsey Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 For those that wanted a little more info, the individual in the photo in front of the bridge is actually from Ireland and his name is Micheal although he does prefer Michelle. For those that are interested he will be finished surgery in mid January. I believe his name is Archibald. Alan.
ayavner Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I believe his name is Archibald.Alan. Bald? Must be under 30...
pmccarthy Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Archibald is not an Irish name. The correct name is Sean Michael. Which, due to a quirk of language, is also Brazilian.
