Admin Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Hi All We have another new and great feature for ALL Recreational Flying users...Groups. You can now have your very own forum dedicated to a specific interest of your choice plus you can have your own Photo Gallery in your Group. Threads, Posts etc in your Group has the same abilities just like a normal forum because it IS a complete forum where users members of your Group can create threads, posts, have Likes, add attachments and videos etc to their posts. Plus, the standard Site Alerts work the same when a new post is added etc. You can create a Group and set what degree of privacy you would like it to have: Open - your forum is open to every registered user to view, post etc Closed - other site users have to request access to the Group from the Group Owner before they can view and post in your Group Forum Hidden - your Group is completely hidden from view and the only way a user knows the group exists is if you give them a link to the Group to request access to it. A Group Owner can also appoint Group Moderators, pass the Group Ownership over to someone else, have your own Group Banner and descriptive information on what the Group is about. People who may like to have their own Group could be Flying Schools and Clubs, Aircraft Type Owners Group, Aircraft Syndicates, or even a group of people that have an interest in an Off Topic subject. This is a BIG opportunity for those that may belong to or have a Facebook Group to move it to here because as we know more and more people are leaving Facebook and Twitter and here at Recreational Flying we have far greater resources available to everyone all in one single aviation home especially now with having Groups along with the now enhanced User Page for ALL users. I have already moved the Instructors Forum over into a private Group. Hope you enjoy, make use of and create your Group with your very own Forum and Photo Gallery, Private or Open, for any groups of like minded people.
