Rotax engined Jabiru

I seem to remember a Rotax engined Jabiru for sale at one time in the RAA magazine. :)

 

Does anyone know how the aircraft performed with this motor? :;)3:

 

Was it the 80Hp or 100Hp motor?

I believe there are a few of these in central Qld.

 

There was definitely one at Raglan this year.

I can put you in touch with a J400 owner in OZ who has a 914 turbo and electric variable pitch prop installed.

I'll give him a ring in the next day or so if I remember. I remember him telling Rod Stiff at Narroming a couple of years back that he would race him to 10,000ft !

I have seen one or two, but don't know the performance figures. One advantage is the ability to fit a variable prop with control through the output shaft of the gearbox. One at raglan had that fitted. There is also a taildragger with 912 engine, whose owner is very enthusiastic but the finish is very poor.
