Coldcomfort Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Just signed up. Have been flying for about 20 years in total but am just getting back to it after about 5 years absence. Have purchased a near new Corby Starlet. (Airframe has 8.5 hours) I will be hopefully be getting legal again in April when I will be doing my tail wheel endoresment and BFR etc. Cheers all.
facthunter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Well, Good luck with all that, and welcome to the Forum. What powerplant is in the Corby? Nev
Coldcomfort Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 It has a revmaster 2100D with a rotec carb. The engine has about 12 hours total. here is a picture taken a couple of weeks ago. 7
Guernsey Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Wow! What a great looking aeroplane and also a great aeroplane. Welcome to the forum. Alan.
Kyle Communications Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Nice looking Corby...There is one in my hangar......I could never fit in it though....and its Jab powered
kaz3g Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Very beautiful aircraft...you should be very happy with it. How does it handle the thermals? Kaz
facthunter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 The 2200 Jab engine seems to suit the plane well. Every one I know of is going fine. They are a bit faster than a lot of stuff, which may help. Nev
Bandit12 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Gday ColdComfort, from another FarRider from the old days...... Bikes and planes really do mix!
Coldcomfort Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 The Road Bandit no doubt!! How are ya do'in?
Bandit12 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Close, the other Bandit - we caught up in Alice last May for dinner with Nico and Roadbandit. Too many similar forum names! Nice Corby by the way, looks like it has been done up with a Christen Eagle paint/decal look.
Yenn Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 G'day, coldcomfort. Good choice the Corby. I have built an RV4 and fly that a lot more than my Corby. More room and slightly more speed, being the reason. but when I jump into the Corby it seems as if I am just putting it on and don't have to do much more than think where I will go and the plane does it. I just took it for a quick jaunt today before going cross countrry in the RV and it just puts a smile on my face.
