farri Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I`ve started this thread in an attempt to keep some focus on the Drifter, so what have you done to keep the Drifter alive? The lady is Patrica, originally from Fiji and the guy is her husband, Frank, originally from south Africa. I took them both up, over the weekend. First time for both of them, in an Ultralight aircraft. 1 1 3
pudestcon Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 As usual Frank you are doing your bit for the ultralight scene, and more particularly the Drifter. You are very generous with your time and aircraft, and more power to you because of that. It's easy to see your most recent passengers enjoyed themselves greatly. Keep well mate. Pud 3 1 1
facthunter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Haven't heard from you for ages Frank. Hows it all going ? Obviously you carry some weight in your area. Nev 1

Samuel117 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 It is a shame to fly a drifter with an empty seat! Happy to see that others have the same approach. Last weekend I flew from Miami to Sebring and back in one day for about 300 miles round trip for a light sport aviation expo we have in Florida every year. It was a bit cold but beautiful weather. My passenger was an airline pilot that changed his Airbus for the Drifter that day. The problem, after 30 minutes flying he started calling on the intercom for the stewardess to bring coffee and to turn off the air conditioning. Our flight back was great and we were racing trains and cars with little success but we had fun day of Drifting. 8 2
farri Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 It was a bit cold but beautiful weather. G`Day Samuel, You`ve reminded me of the time, way back, when I was instructing and I would take students on cross country exercises, in winter, up over the Atherton Tablelands. Damn cold!!!! My passenger was an airline pilot that changed his Airbus for the Drifter that day. Only for the day?, oh well, I suppose he needs to learn to fly first. . Just kidding. Frank. 1 1
Samuel117 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Wow! Frank You are in heaven. Make sure you return back to earth every time. Remember you should keep equal numbers of take off and landings. 1 2
Samuel117 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Frank, I will join you in the conspiracy to get every one I can in to the Drifter. This is so fun It can become illegal at any moment. So, we have to rush! 1
Samuel117 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 My friend Jorge was my last victim. First time on a GA airplane. His own words" this is one of the most exciting and fun experience ever". He got some stick time and now wants more. I can not blame him for that, right? 1
farri Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Goodonya Samuel! I`d love to go flying with you! If you are ever in the Cairns area of north Queensland, Australia, please get in touch with me and we`ll go flying. Frank.
biggles Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I promise not to tell him about those 4.5 metre river dwellers you've got up there Frank ......... Bob 2 1
Samuel117 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Frank, thank you very much for your offer! The world is not really such a big place after all. Australia have being always a dream and one day it will be a reality for me. That day will not be complete if Drifter flying and the friends who fly them are not involved. I said it before and I mean it again now, every drifter flyer and any pilot from Australia has a Drifter available at no cost if they venture to come to Miami Florida. It will be an honor to share what we all love to do. Yesterday, I got my friend Joe in the captain chair and now he wants more. He owns a Cessna 172 but loved to play with the Drifter. The airplane played with him also at some point during the flight 1
Samuel117 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Frank, I have seen the videos, pictures and comments from your friends about your hospitality. I really appreciate and at the same time would like to invite you to fly the drifter anytime if you ever come to Miami, Florida. I know it is a long way but who knows! 2
farri Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Frank, Yesterday, I got my friend Joe in the captain chair and now he wants more. He owns a Cessna 172 but loved to play with the Drifter. Hey Samuel, you need to slow down with the passengers, You`ll ruin my reputation. ....Goodonya! Frank. 1
