kaz3g Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Goulburn Valley Aeroclub will be providing pancake breakfasts on the first Sunday of each month from 08:30 until later. Also offering snags, bacon, eggs, beans, etc for those who watch their weight. This Sunday, breakfast will be followed by a competition involving spot landings and other challenges for avid aviators and aviatrixes. All welcome. Kaz

spacesailor Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 a good place to stop-over on the way to Avalon airshow? spacesailor
kaz3g Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Was a really good morning with pilots attending from Coldstream, Kyneton, Echuca and Bendigo. 44 intrepid fliers had breakfast and more than 20 aircraft participated including a very nicely presented Gazelle from Echuca. RV's were particularly well represented as were Piper and Cessna products. I spent hours washing and waxing my BYM yesterday so it looked it's very best (careful, Don). It was a bit tight under a low ceiling coming across the Divide from the south by all accounts but high cloud and sunny once through. Dick Gower won the "sweetest landing" in his Chippie and our local aviator, Stuart Trevaskis, won the navex by a whisker. Next month the menu will be even more diverse with yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and cereal to go with the pancakes and greasies. Shepparton is a very good stopover if going to Avalon with cabins across the road and plenty of eating places. We have a BBQ and a few drinks at the Aeroclub on Friday nights and all are welcome.
