One from my personal bucket list in coming up in April, to “Fly Victor One “

About six of us are flying from South East Queensland to Merimbula on the NSW South Coast.

A big part of this trip is the plan to fly Victor One, but the regs require the wearing of life vests.

Is there anyone out there who might know where I could beg - borrow – rent - buy, two life vests for this one off trip.

Could you PM me if you can help, thanks in advance,

John

Why don't people use our pilot supplies shop, you can't get better prices and you are helping to keep this site open for everyone to use

Not having a go, but perhaps because when I went there after reading your post I can choose from a lovely selection of Urban Decay Eyeshadow, a beautiful set of False eyelashes or even a set of Eyelash curlers...IF I'm after something aviation-specific, I don't expect to rummage through cosmetics, fashion accessories or babies socks!16250444048_96c19f8f9e_z.jpg

Just click on the "Pilot and Aircraft" tab of the menu for all the pilot supplies and then while you are at it you may like to grab a bargain for the wife or something else for yourself that isn't aviation related as well, that way you save on shipping costs

Besides Valentines day is almost on us so you could get that valentines day present included in your order, or perhaps you need something for around your house, why pay extra plus having to pay another shipping cost if ordering online or the extra time and cost of traveling to a shop only to pay more than the cost in our shop. For example those eye shadows, if you look on the official web site for Urban Decay they are charging $54 USD for them, our price ONLY $14.95, but hey, to each their own BUT it is our shop that helps to pay the costs of providing this site for you to be able to ask these questions, no income then no money to pay to keep this site available to everyone

What timing, I just got emailed the invoice for next months hosting cost, another $250, anyone want to pay the cost to keep this site available for the next 30 days...got to laugh at the timing

The point I was trying to make is that it isn't a pilot store in the traditional sense. IT isn't intuitive that it even sells aviation-related stuff other than the "pilot and aircraft" option on the header bar.

If I hadn't seen the AOPA guide on the front page I would have thought someone had hijacked your link, and that may well be why the pilot-type stuff isn't selling well. Particularly when you click to get to the store from the RF website and it doesn't take you to the "Pilot and Aircraft" section. I'd like to think I'm a reasonably normal bloke and if I've been confused, I'd suggest other's have been as well.

Now, having said that, the prices are cheaper than other suppliers for certain things and if you're in the market, then it would pay to have a look. But there isn't as much variety as I'd expect from a specialised pilot store.

As for rummaging through the "women section", that was the very front page - the first thing someone sees when they go to a "pilot store"!

image.jpg.332aee9932ffa7e39538710df34a8ce2.jpg Just imagine a "womens " section in the RAA mag ,

Also , did i see " bedroom toys " as well ?

I personally think the way this is set up to work on a mobile phone needs a look

Just a critique , Not a critacisim .

:faint:Guys, I am ALWAYS asking for comment on anything I do in the Site Announcements forum, always asking for suggestions, ideas, your acceptance or not before I do anything. If I don't get any comments then I can only assume you accept what I am putting forward and do it. Many things I do take a lot of work and money and if changes are needed based on your comments then I do it before I implement it so I don't have to wasdte the time or money and go back and have to redo it.

Case in point is that I am in the middle of spending $300 USD on the new site structure and menu system (http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/new-site-menu-system.130252/) and as no one has commented in a negative way I assume you are ok with it. If after it is done you comment that you don't like it then I have spent a week of my work and $300 USD trying to do something good only to have it all wasted OR pay more to change it in some way after it is done.

The idea of moving Clear Prop to SaveMoreOnline was discussed in the thread http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/clear-prop-name-change.126350/ and was met favourably so I went on those comments and that took several weeks of work and a lot of money.

PLEASE, when a change is proposed, add your comments and instead of saying something is no good, please SAY WHAT is no good and WHY it is no good and even propose something better so everyone can comments on it and a final solution can be applied to suit as many people as possible!!!

Hi John,

I know when you are doing a trip spending $$ on fuel and Accommodation etc, you don't want to spend on something you may never use again (especially if your a pensioner). We're members of the SE Qld club but we are not doing that trip. We have two life vests we can loan you

I don't mind looking in the "female clothing section" but it is upsetting for me that the models don't come with the items.

I guess they are an "extra cost" which I haven't considered. 037_yikes.gif.f44636559f7f2c4c52637b7ff2322907.gif
