dlegg Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I would like to hear from those that have experience with the rotec tbi on the 3300. I would like to run mine lop, any real world experience out there? Thanks for any replies....
geoffreywh Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I would say simply you can't. Fit a TBI by all means ( I have one on my 0-200) You'll probably get better fuel milage due to better fuel atomisation and more accurate control. BUT you will almost certainly have to run ROP or you'll simply overheat the 3300. They are VERY delicate regards to heat input.
jetjr Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Unless you sort out fuel distribution to be even youll risk damage Wouldnt even consider it without full EGT and CHT monitoring TBI helps but doesnt fix the problem of EGT spread 2
facthunter Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 IF it does atomise better it won't make it worse, and I say IF. Generally to get better atomisation you end up with a bigger pressure drop across the Carburettor to achieve it and a fairly exotic spray nozzle. The fuel pressure on one of those carbs is very small. It eliminates the float so that's one hazard removed. Nev
