Russ Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I've used variants of this puncture control goo for many yrs ( gyro ) ....the other day I dosed up my jab160....yikes, at about 50kts hurtling down the runway, things get nasty, whole machine shakes etc. my guess.....wheels getting grossly out of balance at high speeds. Tomorrow's task.....replace all tubes, no goo. Hope this helps folks.

Hope this helps folks. I have had the same happen with my plane Russ (but not lately, which I cannot explain). Slime was originally marketed as having the secondary benefit of helping balance a spinning wheel. (I just accepted that, not understanding the mechanism.) I used it for decades in motorcycle tyres with no problems. Back in '78 I did some testing just before replacing the rear tubeless on my CX-500. I drilled a 3.2 mm hole in the tyre, then went for a ride around the block. I repeated that 15 times without losing pressure, until I drilled the last hole right on the edge of the tread, which the slime couldn't seal. I suspect the quality of preseals varies, however. Some brands didn't prevent puncture in my bicycles.
