jeffd Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 was thinking of looking at the jabiru j170 for a first probably only aircraft any comments appreciated 1
frank marriott Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Do everything in a J170 that I do in my 230. Cruise at 100 V 120, on shortish trips the 120hp is noticable expecially at 600kg, but the plus being about 8 ltrs/hr less. The later models without the large fin under the tail make them a pretty little aircraft. 1 2

If a lot of trips then jab cheap for your money . If you are doing a lot of local stuff then a slower air craft may be more practical . Never make the mistake in falling in love with a aircraft sitting on the ground ,it must be easy to fly in most conditions and have a low stall speed to be safe all round aircraft . Dan
