Ultralights Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 a string of misfortune? or a comedy of errors? 3
Jaba-who Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Slight variation on the story but it's still about the lake eyre salt crust and mud. Mate of mine was young jackaroo working on a station on the western "shore" of lake eyre. He and another young fellah were sent out on their trail bikes to do something along the lake edge. They decided to ride out onto the salt and the wheels broke through. They found they could still ride and the wheels left a black mud line against the White salt/gravel. Being young blokes they could not resist writing 50 m high swear words in the lake bed. What they didn't realise was that the station owner, who was God fearing and absolute non swearer was flying in in his light plane and crossed right over their position just after they had finished. When they got home later there was a very unhappy owner and manager waiting for them. They got their rear ends kicked severely but I think they just manged to keep their jobs.
winsor68 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 They did drop it, on purpose as it was getting out of control apparently! What a mess... written off now. Couldn't see that coming....
Tomo Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Turbs, TILL HE replaces himself with about 50 "young enthusiasts". We need to get our money's worth out of him. Nev Well there's one in the oven at present… 1 1 2
facthunter Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 They don't all have to have your "genes". 50 is a bit much, even for an enthusiast. You need to do some flying as well. Nev 1 1
