Downunder Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 RIP... looks like he hit the garage door on a home....looks powered. https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/27085104/paraglider-dies-after-crash/ 1
UltraFlash Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Was a PPG pilot, friend of a friend. Apparently had engine failure at low altitude with very little options and tried to land on the road. The pilot was in his early 20's, and with a newborn baby. Condolences to the family and friends.
bexrbetter Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Respectfully and acknowledging the terrible tragedy, to someone who has never paraglided, it seems from the outside you would just float down as would a parachutists, why such an impact to cause fatal injuries?
Guest bluespot Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 in nil wind I "float" down in a parachute not paraglider at about 35kph and forward at about 8kph. That in itself is enough! Now throw on a motor etc and a possible tail wind, power or OMG moment of control loss and we loose a fellow. Rest in peace Justin
