The technique is the same IF or visual. You usually got put into a bad position, and you have no idea what it is.

 

I cheated a bit ....I just neutralised the controls and waited a few seconds to see what it did.

 

Then you check airspeed and direction of turn.

My original upset recovery training was done under the hood with all gyros caged. Nev

I haven't suggested what I did was the optimum, but the essentials have stood the test of time. You must identify spin or spiral rather quickly. Nev
