Guest ericthered1975 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 During ww2, the Luftwaffe tested some versions of his famous dive bomber JU-87 Stuka. The link below provides a small colection of pictures, some rare and unknown to me, these versions. I hope you enjoy. http://aviacaoemfloripa.blogspot.com.br/2011/02/variantes-do-ju-87-stuka.html Eric
old man emu Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I wonder if the Stuka with the undercarriage spats might not have been an early prototype the factory was testing. The pilots and ground crew seem to be civilians. I think that the folding wing version was being design for the Kreigsmarine, but they didn't have a flat-top. OME
Birdseye Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I think that the folding wing version was being design for the Kreigsmarine, but they didn't have a flat-top.OME Intended for use on the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin which was launched in 1938, but never completed. The catapult shots were a test version of the catapult that was to be fitted on the carrier.
fatmal Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Sadly, war bring all sorts of engineering advances (or at least some weird ideas!). This one is my favourite A 57mm 6-pound field gun mounted in the belly of the De Havilland Mosquito! Mal 1
Old Koreelah Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Some damned ugly ducklings in that lot- and the biggest wing fences I've ever seen!
