Hi everyone,

I just signed up to this site, hoping to get some inspiration. I'm in my mid 50s and have always been interested (obsessed) in flying. I started PPL training in the UK some time ago, but ran out of funds. I have flown gliders too, but no certification. So, even if I get to retirement age, I'll still have the desire to fly.

I'm simply looking forward to some stimulating conversations here :)

Andy

How did I forget to mention that the airport in Hamilton (CYHM) is home to one of only two Lancasters which remain flying. It regularly flies low over my house in the summer months. An unmistakable sound from the Merlin engines. See attached photo (courtesy of planespotters.net)

Dazza, I'm glad you got to see the Lanc.

Ozbear, you're right, lots of floatplanes and lots of lakes, although often frozen :).
