Robags Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 G'day, Just wondering if anyone has come up with any ideas on the standard fitted Auxiliary fuel tank that gave total capacity of about 70 Litres? I don't have one of these tanks and would like one or has someone got any ideas on making one? As would like to go cross country in the 582 Drifter with minimum fuel stops! Cheers
farri Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Can you be more specific on the ideas your looking for? Frank.
Robags Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Well there seems to be quite a mixture of different fuel tanks fitted out there from the Lockwood to Maxair and Austflight.. But it seems the Aussie Drifters have the biggest ones I've seen yet. It's a standard 40 litres then optional Auxiliary belly tank with an extra 30 litres making the total useable 70 litres or 18 USG.. Sadly the Aussie Drifter being out of production I'm wondering if anyone knows how else to get 70 Litres within balance or if whoever made these tanks for Austflight is still around?. please see pic link with Austflight Drifter with these two tanks.. I really need maximum fuel possible but still with two people flying. So ideally I'd like to find second hand tanks or would like ideas from what other people have done. Any info much appreciated Cheers http://www.airliners.net/photo/Austflight-Drifter-SB582/1493789/L/
