Hi Shafs,

Yep, I was using a Go Pro. Still getting the hang of it. I noticed that some of the video's I put on you-tube don't play on I-pad/I-phone but work on computers. I'll eventually work it out.

ok. I watch it in 720hd very clear very nice POV. And very close base and finals. but I suppose you can do that with a drifter.

My strip is 16.4 nm miles at a bearing of 272 deg from Childers. You wont miss the new hangar on the property. 2 strips but only 350mtrs long each and powerlines at the southern approaches. There are long white runway markers at the strips edges. I will be up there on the fri and saturday at the end of this month if you want to drop in for a cuppa.

Sounds good mate. If I get up for a fly in the next week I'll do a fly over and have a look. I'll take any excuse for a flight. Happy flying!

The powerlines are marked with red balls at the southern end. There is also a windsock between the two runways. The best approach is from the north What I call the main strip is 170/350 the cross strip is 135/315

The Yellow Hornet took a late afternoon flight around Childers yesterday. Finished off with a few circuits, nice time of day for a flight!

Found the strip, nice setup, your Savanah would love it. Tried to take some photo's but very blurry. Will try to take some good aerial shots for you next time I fly over!

Thats good you found it ok the cattle do knock the PVC tubes around a bit I have to reset them occasionaly. I have to get some stakes and drill some holes in the ends and stake them in. I am starting to mow at the outer sides now to crib a bit more strip size but will eventually get a grader in to do some better leveling as the ground was ripped many years ago but never leveled. I had the dozer do the current strips when we had it there to put in the dam you see to the right of the strips

Hi All,

Looks like I'm putting the Yellow Hornet on the market. If your looking for a nice SB Drifter put this on your list. All the details are on the classifieds thread.

Hi All,

Downloaded the Sport Pilot Mag today to discover a double page photo of the Yellow Hornet. "Beautiful"

Hi all,

Here's a video of the Yellow Hornet doing a couple of circuits earlier today. She is still up for sale if anyone is chasing a very nice SB Drifter. I would also be happy to consider a 1/2 share arrangement.

I was told to apologise for my taste in music

Great song, Great Video. Optional L/H and R/H circuits ?

Hi Mike,

Glad you liked it. Well picked up on the Ccts, on occasion when nobody else in the area I have a crack at left&right Ccts and throw in some practice emergencies from both sides. Regards

Hi All,

Here's a video of a Yellow Hornet flight along the Isis River then the Burrum River and out into Hervey Bay. Quite often see Dugong's feeding around the mouth of the Burrum.

How can you contemplate selling the Drifter when it looks like you have so much fun with it?

I think you need to keep it AND buy something enclosed to fly with the wife. Remember there is nothing wrong with being a two plane family, I am sure you know lots of families with two cars. Planes are no different.

Must find time find time to pop over & say Hi one day.

Hi Mick,

Yeh, once your settled in we'll have to link up at the field for a cuppa. Not sure I could get the idea of owning a squadron of aircraft pass the misses. Your right about enjoying the flying, there's not much else like it. Catch you soon.

Hi All,

Dragged the Yellow Hornet out of the hangar early today for my favourite local flight. Childers-Pacific Haven(quick brew with Bruce). Then Burrum Heads-Woodgate-Childers. All before 8.30am, good way to start the day.

All fun planes. Drifters are special... CASA are reluctant to grant approval for other than standard (Which is left hand) circuits. Years back any reason was OK, but not now. Nev

You sure get to use your plane, Frank. By contrast I sold my Fisher today. Have to alter my details in the interests of accuracy. Nev
