Guest bateo Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 A suspected 25-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Mudgee district Hospital yesterday (October 2nd) after a Jabiru 160 attempted an emergency landing at Mudgee at 2.25pm. The man had sustained minor injuries and is in a stable condition. It appears the Jabiru 160, VH-LST, did not recover from a gust of wind on landing and was forced onto the ground damaging all the undercarriage, cowlings, propellor and port side wing. The aircraft came to a final stop on the grass strip resting on its wing. Authorities will be investigating the scene further.
Guest bateo Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 The Jabiru VH-LST has the initials S.F.T.C on its tail wing.....?? Unsure of where this aircraft is from... still situated at the aerodrome on its wing.

Guest brentc Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Could be from any school in the area as Leaseair owns over a dozen 160's.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I often see LST operating in and out of YSBK and I am quite sure I have seen it sleeping there many times.
Guest bateo Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Poor bugger is sleeping at Mudgee on its wing at the moment.
planedriver Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Your quite right Darren. It operates out of YSBK and is one of the Sydney Flight Training Centre's fleet. They have probably 1/2 or more J160's on lease, plus a couple of J230's apart from usual range of Cessna spam-cans. The main thing is that the student pilot is around to assist with any enquiries.
planedriver Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 My post should have read, that they have half a dozen or more J160's;etc
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I thought 1/2 Jabs would be much cheaper to hire mate It was a good result the pilot being around to tell the story. ;)
