Yenn Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Buy the Tony hayes book and you will get Tony hayes biased view of the Thruster. You will then be committed to always doing wheeler landings, because you can't 3 point the Thruster. 1
terryc Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Tony was a promoter of wheelers during training but he certainly would expect you to be able to three pointer a thruster and once mastered they are easy.

You can, and i have - many times. but there is a knack to it. After you round out you glide in ground effect while working the stick back, then just as it stalls with the wheels 2 inches off the ground - you stuff the stick right back - the wing stalls and you roll on on three wheels. 2

I have flown with Tony on quite a few occasions and half our landings were 3 point, you had to 3 point or you didn't get your certificate
